At the first Google Cloud Summit held in Africa, James Manyika, Senior Vice President, Google & Alphabet, presented Nexus Intelligence from the keynote stage. On 15 September 2026, Google named Nexus Intelligence again, in his blog on building AI to accelerate science and improve lives.

Nexus AI CXR
A CE-certified medical device that analyses chest X-rays and indicates findings not consistent with a normal lung field, including patterns suggestive of pulmonary tuberculosis. The algorithm comprises two core models - Normal and TB - that run in parallel on every chest X-ray.

Beta version
Multi-Pathology AI + LLM
Builds on the CE-certified Nexus AI CXR and adds an extra layer of classification - assigning descriptive labels to certain radiological findings, plus LLM-assisted clinical insights and structured reporting. Internally validated. We are currently in the process to expand our CE certification.

Nexus AI CXR was developed on over 460,000 chest X-rays from 10 countries across diverse populations and imaging modalities, and has been independently validated by both Nexus and Google. Both the Normal model and the TB model met or exceeded the World Health Organization's performance thresholds (≥90% sensitivity, ≥70% specificity).
Nexus AI CXR was further independently validated by the Stop TB Partnership and ranked as one of the top two performing models as published in The Lancet - confirmed across HIV-positive, female, male, and age subgroups.
Nexus continues to refine our models through ongoing post-market surveillance and additional training - a commitment to continuous improvement in real-world clinical performance.
